ableton live and push II

I have been using ableton live for several years now. I also have an ableton push II.

for the most part I never know how to use software the proper way. I noodle around until i get something i think feels right. once I accomplish that task I dive into the the internet to see how to do something with the thing I think felt right. most of the time I find a youtube video or part of a question another person asked on a forum which allow me to figure out what I wanted to do. the video or question is not usually the exact thing I wanted to know but I end up arriving in the area which gets me where I want to be. why is this? What I have noticed is the person asking the question doesn’t ask the question in the right way and the people answering the question don’t know how to teach. both know too much about stuff because each are logical people who learn things the way they were taught to learn things. what I mean is the one who asked and the one who answered knew how to take standardized tests in school. They both understood the way to study and how to memorize stuff in the right order. most of these people are not creative but appear to be creative because they do stuff in the proper order or way. also the people in charge also do stuff this way and see and understand the others who do this stuff this way. everything is bland that way.

but but but……. but when you have no idea on how to do the logical, organized and proper way to do things and you figure out sort of how to do something and then figure out how to find the answers in someones wrongish question and answer you figure out some thing different and creative. The big problem with this is nobody really understands what your doing. The result is you get passed over and ignored for lame boring shit. not always though. sometimes the right person sees what your doing and takes the time to follow what you are doing and appreciates it.

what does this rant have to do with ableton and push?????? the what is and has to do with this is just start. start your idea in whatever way you can and then do it in whatever way you can. don’t ask for permission, don’t wait, just do it. put it out there. engage with people in whatever way you can. your interaction with them doesn’t have to be perfect. your website and object or idea doesn’t have to be perfect. nobody knows what you intended or how it didn’t turn out the way you wanted it to. they won’t know its not perfect if you don’t tell them. take constructive feedback. disregard anything you want to disregard in any feedback they give if you want to. then go about improving on the thing, idea or whatever it is until you are satisfied with it. then put it out there again. keep doing this until you get to where you want to be with whatever it is. along the way its okay to pause and work on other ideas but don’t get involved with too many ideas so you never complete anything. its okay if you get off track a bit and do too many things as long as you get back to the one thing which is working or has been put out into the world. setting something aside and allowing yourself the freedom to go in a different direction or to incorporate a bit of the old idea into the new thing is also okay.

I still didn’t answer the question about what this has to do with ableton and push. the answer is I took a short online lesson on live and push and now I know a bit more than I did about both.
